iCare Dental: 1 Cleaning/Year, Accredited Clinics & LOA Steps

iCare dental benefits are used at clinics in iCare's partner dental networks, not at any clinic you walk into. iCare publishes those networks (Health Partners Dental Access Inc. and Reliant Health Med Alliance) on its Accredited Dental Networks page. When your plan includes the dental benefit, the usual coverage is consultations, one cleaning a year, simple extractions, temporary fillings, and a small allowance for permanent fillings.
The catch is that on most iCare plans, dental is an optional benefit, not standard. So the first thing to settle is whether your card has it at all. This guide covers how to check, which clinics are on the network, and what to do at the counter so you don't end up paying the walk-in rate.
First, Who Is iCare Now?
iCare is the brand of Insular Health Care, Inc., the HMO that the Insular Life (InLife) group founded in 1991. Older documents and some clinic signs still say "Insular Health Care" or "InLife Health Care." It's the same company.
Ownership has changed, though. In January 2026, InLife sold its remaining stake in iCare to Value-Based Health Care PF Pte. Ltd., a company based in Singapore. At the time the deal was reported as subject to regulatory approval. Nothing changes for members on paper: the card, the hotlines, and the Makati head office are the same, and the official site is still icare.com.ph. If you've seen "InLife" on your old card, you don't need a new one just because of the sale. Your HR or iCare can confirm that.
What Dental Services Does iCare Cover?
iCare lists the dental benefit on its corporate, individual, and family plan pages. The details below come from those pages (checked October 2026). Your own contract or benefits guide always wins, so treat this as what to ask about, not a guarantee.
- Dental consultations. Unlimited visits for problems like gum issues, mouth sores, and lesions, by appointment and during clinic hours.
- Oral prophylaxis (cleaning). Once a year, for mild to moderate cases. Heavy tartar that needs deep scaling may fall outside this.
- Simple tooth extraction (bunot). Unlimited simple extractions. Impacted teeth, surgical removal, and "complicated" extractions are excluded.
- Temporary fillings. Unlimited.
- Permanent fillings (pasta). A limited allowance. The individual plan page says it covers three surfaces of amalgam (silver) or two surfaces of light-cure (tooth-colored) filling. The corporate page shows a smaller base allowance, so check your plan.
- Re-cementing loose crowns, bridges, inlays, and onlays, plus simple denture clasp adjustments.
- Emergency desensitization for very sensitive teeth, plus orthodontic and aesthetic consultations (the consultation only, not the treatment).
The corporate plan page lists two levels of the benefit. One is a base version tied to "preferred dental facilities." The other is an expanded "open-door" version with a larger filling allowance. If you're an employee, ask HR which version your company bought.
What iCare Dental Does Not Cover
Like most Philippine HMOs, iCare covers basic dental care and excludes the expensive work:
- Root canal treatment
- Surgical and impacted-tooth extraction (most wisdom teeth)
- Braces, retainers, and aligners. The consult is covered, the treatment isn't
- Crowns, bridges, dentures, and implants. Re-cementing is covered, making new ones isn't
- Whitening, veneers, and other cosmetic work
- Dental X-rays and other diagnostics, plus prescribed medicines
If the dentist finds something outside the list, get an itemized quote before you agree. Our tooth extraction cost guide gives you a reference point for the most common surprise, a "simple" extraction that turns surgical.
iCare Plans and Dental at a Glance
| iCare product | Dental? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Corporate / SME plan | Optional benefit | Your employer decides. The page says 100% of qualified enrollees in a category must be covered for the benefit to apply |
| Individual plan | Optional rider | Ages 15 days to below 60. Price only by quote |
| Family plan | Optional rider | Everyone enrolled on the plan must take the rider |
| MedConsult (prepaid) | Dental consultations only | Listed from ₱2,500. Unlimited dental consults through iCare's dental network. Cleaning and other procedures not included |
| ER Care, K12, She's Well (prepaid) | None listed | Built for ER visits, school-age kids, and women's health |
Prepaid prices and inclusions are from iCare's prepaid plans page as of October 2026 and can change. Be careful with MedConsult. It sounds like a dental plan, but its dental benefit is a consultation. The cleaning, the pasta, and the bunot are paid by you.
Which Dental Clinics Accept iCare?
iCare doesn't send members to dental clinics directly. It works through partner dental networks, and the network your plan uses decides which clinics you can go to. The dental networks page lists two:
- Health Partners Dental Access Inc. (HPDAI). Clinic-based, with branches across Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Central and Western Visayas, and Davao.
- Reliant Health Med Alliance. Listed by individual dentist, mostly in Metro Manila (Caloocan, Las Piñas, Manila). iCare's FAQ for MedConsult members calls it "Reliant, formerly Filipino Doctors." Several entries are "by appointment only." Members are told to call Reliant first for an endorsement to the dentist so they aren't charged extra.
Here are some HPDAI clinics from the first page of iCare's list, marked "active for all" and last updated March 2026. This is a sample, not the full list. The page has a search filter for city and clinic name.
| Area | Clinic on iCare's HPDAI list |
|---|---|
| Quezon City | TotalCare Dental Clinic, SmileStation Dental Clinic, Brightsmile Avenue Dental Clinic (Banawe) |
| Makati | Brightsmile Avenue Dental Clinic (Makati) |
| Muntinlupa / Laguna | Signature Dental Clinic (Muntinlupa and Sta. Rosa branches) |
| Pampanga | Espiritu Dental Clinic (Balibago, Angeles City), Sangil Dental Clinic (San Fernando City) |
| Cebu | Prudent Dental Clinic (Cebu City), Cebdent Experteeth (Mandaue City) |
| Davao | AIM Dental Avenue, Limsiaco-Toghyani Dental Clinic (Davao City) |
iCare notes on the same page that dentists in each network can change. If you're unsure, call its 24/7 line before you go.
Some clinics also list iCare on their NgipenHub profile. In Angeles City, for example, Scala Dental Clinic on Henson Street lists iCare among the HMOs it accepts, together with Etiqa, Pacific Cross, Filipino Doctors, and HPPI. Its listing says it's open daily, 9AM to 6PM. Confirm before you visit. Clinic listings show what the clinic says, and your plan may route you through a specific network. For more clinics in Angeles and San Fernando, see our Pampanga dental clinic guide. You can also browse clinics by city and filter for HMO-accredited ones.
How to Use Your iCare Card at the Dentist
- Confirm you have dental. Check your benefits summary, ask HR, or call iCare. A lot of wasted trips start with a card that never had the dental rider.
- Find your network and a clinic. Use the Accredited Dental Networks page and pick a clinic in the network your plan uses. If you're unsure which network that is, ask when you call.
- Book an appointment, don't walk in. Most network dentists see HMO patients by appointment. When you book, tell the clinic you're an iCare member and which network you're under.
- Get your LOA if it's needed. For outpatient services, iCare issues a Letter of Authorization (LOA). You can request it through the iCare mobile app ("iCare – Insular Health Care" on iOS and Android) or by emailing [email protected]. For MedConsult, the FAQ says each LOA is good for 3 days and covers one consultation.
- Bring your card (or e-card in the app) and a valid ID. MedConsult members bring their personalized voucher and an ID instead.
- Ask what's covered before treatment starts. If the dentist suggests something outside the benefit, get the covered and not-covered split in writing first.
For a general walk-through that applies to any HMO card, see how to use HMO dental benefits.

How iCare Dental Compares With Other HMOs
The covered list is close to the industry standard: preventive and basic care is covered, and anything lab-made or surgical is excluded. The real differences are in how the benefit is set up:
- Dental is an add-on, not a default. Some HMO plans bundle basic dental. On iCare's own pages it is an optional benefit that the whole group has to take. Two iCare members at different companies can have very different dental coverage, and some have none.
- A network of networks. You go through HPDAI or Reliant, not iCare directly. That means one more thing to check, but it also gives you a published list to work from.
- The filling allowance is spelled out. iCare states its permanent-filling limit in surfaces, which is useful when comparing offers. Many plans only say "fillings."
- The cheapest product is consultations only. MedConsult gets you in the dentist's chair for advice, not treatment.
Other corporate-first insurers work in a similar way. Our guides to Etiqa dental coverage and Avega dental coverage cover two more cards that Philippine employers commonly use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does iCare cover dental cleaning?
Yes, if your plan has the dental benefit. It covers one oral prophylaxis a year for mild to moderate cases. The MedConsult prepaid plan does not include cleaning, only dental consultations.
Is iCare the same as Insular Health Care?
Yes. iCare is the brand of Insular Health Care, Inc., originally the HMO of the Insular Life group. InLife sold its remaining stake to a Singapore-based buyer in early 2026, but the company, cards, and hotlines carry on under the iCare name.
Does iCare cover braces or root canal?
No. iCare covers orthodontic consultations but not the braces themselves, and root canal treatment is excluded. Get a quote from the clinic and plan to pay for these yourself.
How do I get an LOA from iCare for a dental visit?
Request it in the iCare mobile app, email [email protected], or call (02) 77777-999. Book with the clinic first so you know the date, because LOAs are only valid for a short time.
Can I buy iCare dental coverage as an individual?
Yes. The individual and family plans offer dental as an optional rider, and you get a price by requesting a quote. The prepaid MedConsult plan, listed from ₱2,500, includes unlimited dental consultations but no procedures.
Why did the clinic say they don't accept my iCare card?
Usually because the clinic isn't in your plan's dental network, your plan has no dental rider, or the dentist's accreditation has changed. Call iCare before you visit to confirm both your benefit and the clinic.
